Cerebral Venous Thrombosis Combined with Spontaneous Intracranial Hypotension: A Case Report and Review of the Literature

چکیده

Several cases of cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) due to spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH) have been reported, with an estimated occurrence rate 1–2% among patients decreased pressure. However, the causal relationship between SIH and CVT as a potential risk factor is not well understood. According Monro-Kellie principle, this thought be caused by compensatory expansion system, damage intravenous wall changes in buoyancy, or increased blood viscosity. Although anticoagulation therapy typically first choice treatment for diagnosed CVT, considering intracerebral hemorrhage secondary important. We report case patient who developed complication discuss its mechanisms options. Early identification appropriate can lead successful outcomes prevention complications.

Spontaneous Intracranial Hypotension Plus Cerebral Venous Thrombosis: A Case Report Study

This is a case study of a 34-year-old woman who was admitted to hospital with a history of severe orthostatic headache. She was diagnosed as having spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH) by undetectable cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure at lumbar puncture, and with evidence of diffuse dural enhancement of the brain detected by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). However, the contrast-enhance...

Cerebral venous thrombosis in post-lumbar puncture intracranial hypotension: case report and review of literature

The spectrum of presentation of intracranial hypotension is clinically perplexing. We report a case of 31-year-old post-partum woman who underwent an uneventful caesarean section under spinal anesthesia. From the second day of surgery she developed postural headache, the headache lost its postural character after few days. She then developed seizures and ataxic hemiparesis. Magnetic resonance i...

Cerebral Venous Thrombosis in Two Patients with Spontaneous Intracranial Hypotension

Although few patients with spontaneous intracranial hypotension develop cerebral venous thrombosis, the association between these two entities seems too common to be simply a coincidental finding. We describe two cases of spontaneous intracranial hypotension associated with cerebral venous thrombosis. In one case, extensive cerebral venous thrombosis involved the superior sagittal sinus and mul...

Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis caused by spontaneous intracranial hypotension

The association of spontaneous intracranial hypotension with cerebral venous sinus thrombosis is rare. We report here a case of extensive cerebral venous sinus thrombosis involving three sinuses following spontaneous intracranial hypotension. The patient presented no other thrombotic risk factors except for spontaneous intracranial hypotension. This case adds to the evidence that spontaneous in...
